Keeping the boys fueled for the state baseball tournament was no joke!
Every parent knows it’s hard to keep up with the snacks needed over summer vacation. And business professionals need plenty of fuel too.
Are you giving yourself the essential sustenance? Adequate sleep, fresh air, protein-rich meals and healthy snacks make a huge difference. Other options: take a short walk during lunch break, read a book, enroll in a Dardis training session, listen to an educational podcast during your commute and limit screen time.
These 9-year-olds aren’t the only ones who need a hearty sandwich before the big game. Keep yourself fueled too!

From the beginning, my vision for The Dardis Foundation was to give back, to equip the next generation with the leadership skills I’ve honed over the past 20 years. And as always, I wanted it to be a family effort. This has been a family business since the first days when I hired my mom as my first employee and enlisted my sister to answer the phone.
That vision came to reality earlier this summer at Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines, where we provided our dynamic “Classroom To Career” two-day program. Training these talented teens was a delight. And it was extra special because my son, daughter, sister, niece and nephew helped facilitate the workshop.
The workshop was held at the Sheraton in a familiar room—the same room where I led our first public program 20 years ago! (Back then it was a Holiday Inn, and I was thinner.) It was a full-circle moment!
Our charitable giving is based on a simple philosophy: by developing young adults with the skills and tools they need to succeed in life, we’re able to make the greatest impact. We could all feel the huge potential—the students, my kids, my sister and myself. It felt like we were seeing the future coming into sharper focus.
We can’t wait to train our next group of bright high-school students. Interested in learning more? Contact us at info@dardisfoundation.org.
Most leaders are not meeting employees’ basic human needs of finding meaning, purpose, connection and happiness at work. That’s a central finding—based on extensive research—shared in this book. The solution presented by the authors kept me turning the pages. They outline an approach to leadership that focuses on three core mental qualities: mindfulness, selflessness and compassion. Each one resonated with me—especially being more focused in an age of constant distractions.
“I absolutely loved the class! At the beginning of the year, I asked my manager Joe for training in communications, and Dardis exceeded my expectations. The course was extremely challenging in the most fantastic way and covered everything I was hoping to learn in a communications class.
Angie was awesome. She drove home the concepts of the curriculum, was a great coach, and made me a believer in everything she taught. I think literally everyone would benefit from taking the course. It was simply amazing.”
