How To Add Value To Your Internship Program

As we look back on the summer, our experience coaching interns was a highlight. It’s energizing to provide such relevant training at such a crucial juncture. These college students soak up our instruction and truly shine.

Their feedback is resoundingly positive.

“To say that I appreciate the investment made in me by providing Dardis training would be an understatement,” said Anthony Marcopoli, a college student who interned at Yanmar this past summer. “This opportunity could not have come at a better time in my life. Now that I’m beginning my career, I see the value that communication skills add to the individual. Thanks to Dardis, I believe that my new approach to professional communication will set me apart from my peers in the future.”

Anthony and his fellow interns were coached by Vice President Tyson Greiner.

“Tyson did a wonderful job,” Anthony said. “Not only did he teach us great strategies for formal communication, he gave us time to practice amongst ourselves and receive meaningful feedback.”

The young adults are already putting their Dardis skills into practice – and seeing the impact.

“The lessons I learned were very easy to implement in my daily life,” Anthony said. “I’ve made a point to apply them. Whether I’m interacting with coworkers or speaking amongst friends, I’m able to convey my thoughts effectively by utilizing tactics we learned in Dardis. I’ve received numerous compliments from my peers and superiors regarding my articulate and concise way of speaking.”

An internship that includes Dardis training packs a big punch.

“I feel much more confident explaining who I am and what I can bring to any organization,” Anthony said.

This hasn’t always been the case, he admitted. “There are many occasions I can recall where I have a great idea to propose to a group, but I’m unable to effectively convey what I’m thinking.”

Companies often wrap Dardis training into the beginning of their program, allowing students the opportunity to leverage the skills throughout their internship. Many organizations require their interns to give a capstone presentation to their leadership explaining key takeaways from the experience. We’re told that these presentations go over much better for both the student and leadership when Dardis training is at the forefront.

If you’re looking to attract more talent and take your internship program to the next level, incorporating Dardis training is a simple, powerful way to do so.
